IoT-based automated barricade enabling real-time lane control to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and support smart city mobility systems.

  • Urban highways and multilane roads experience heavy traffic congestion, causing fuel wastage, delays, and slow emergency response. Current barricade and lane-diversion systems are static and manually operated, making them slow and inefficient during peak traffic. Because lanes cannot dynamically adjust to traffic density, certain lanes remain overcrowded while others are underutilized. This lack of intelligent lane management results in time loss, high stress, increased accident risk, and ineffective traffic flow control.

  • An IoT-enabled automated barricade that adjusts lane allocation based on real-time traffic conditions. The system detects congestion patterns, controls lane opening/closing, integrates with V2V/V2I communication, and provides manual emergency override. It enables faster traffic flow, reduces delays, and enhances public safety.

  • Smart city programs, municipal traffic authorities, state highway departments, metro-city infrastructure boards, road safety agencies, and urban development bodies.
